Instructions For Mini Survey
THE AMERICAN FAINTING GOAT ORGANIZTION: A SURVEY FOR THE MINIATURE GOATS.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE TRACKING AND TRENDING FORM:
We will be looking for information about our miniature goats. We hope to find some trends that may help us to know more about the development of the miniature fainting goats. AFGO feels that the miniature fainting goats should have the same breed standard as the traditional size fainters. They will just be in a smaller package. AFGO considers a goat to be of the miniature size if that goat is 22” or less at the age of 3 years old. AFGO believes that to produce a good quality miniature goat, it must be breed from certified miniature parents. Often times a goat will stay miniature size due to development issues or others problems. We do not consider this a good quality miniature goat. The purpose of this study will be to see if 2 certified miniature goats can reproduce certified miniature offspring. We will also being looking at the rate of maturity with these goats.
This form is to be used in the survey to track and trend any information obtained. The more information we can gather the better results we will achieve. AFGO is aware that there are many variables that may affect the results. We ask that you feel free to add any additional information to your form that you feel may benefit the results. We will track and trend these goats for 3 years when possible. We need to follow them from birth until they mature at the age of 3 years old. (Or find out more about the true maturation date for them).
This survey is open to any certified miniature goat. The goat doesn’t have to be registered with AFGO to be involved in this study. All certified miniature goats are welcome to participate. All results will be given back to AFGO for comparison so that we may be able to see some trending patterns. All information found from this survey will be published on the AFGO website for everyone to see.
We thank everyone that has decided to participate in our survey. AFGO feels like it may be beneficial to all miniature goat breeders no matter what registry of choice that they may use.
