Miniature Certificate

                                                        MINIATURE CERTIFICATE

 

GOAT MUST BE 3 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER TO BE CERTIFIED AS A PERMANENT MINIATURE AND MUST BE 23 INCHES OR LESS FOR A BUCK OR WETHER AND 22″ OR LESS FOR A DOE TO BE GRANTED A PERMANENT MINIATURE CERTIFICATE.  THE GOAT MUST BE PROPERLY MEARSURED. MEASUREMENT OF THE GOAT SHOULD BE FROM THE WITHERS DOWN TO THE GROUND IN A STRAIGHT LINE. THE GOAT SHOULD BE STANDING ON FLAT, LEVEL GROUND.  A MINIATURE HORSE MEASURING STICK IS THE BEST WAY TO MEASURE.   PLACE THE MEASURING STICK JUST BEHIND THE FRONT LEGS AND USE A LEVEL ACROSS THE WITHERS. ONCE LEVEL IS CORRECT YOU SHOULD HAVE YOUR MEASURMENT. SEE PICTURE BELOW. THE MEASURING STICK WILL ACTUALLY TOUCH OR RUN ALONG THE BACKSIDE OF THE FRONT LEG WHILE THE MEASUREMENT IS BEING DONE.

AFGO awards a Temporary miniature certificate if both parents are certified as AFGO miniatures. The above information is required along with: If the goat at any time prior to 3 years of age or after measures more than the required height the miniature status will be removed and the goat will return to a standard/traditional size on their certificate.
